Hemorol Description
Hemorol, a rectal suppository medication, effectively relieves symptoms associated with hemorrhoids, chronic inflammatory conditions, and irritation of the rectal mucosa. It achieves pain relief through benzocaine, an anesthetic agent. The formula also includes local styptic, anti-inflammatory, and diastolic components. The efficacy of this product is solely based on extensive historical use and experience in the mentioned indications.
How to Apply Hemorol
For adults, administer 1 suppository rectally at night. In more serious cases, use 2 to 3 suppositories per day. Apply the suppositories until pain-related complaints withdraw, but not longer than for 7 consecutive days.
To use the suppository, cut the foil vertically over the suppository tip and tear it energetically to remove it from the packaging.
Higher Than Recommended Dose
If you apply a higher dose of the preparation or use an incompatible method of administration, consult a physician or a pharmacist.
Before Applying Hemorol
To determine the cause of the disease, we recommend consulting a physician. Large hemorrhoids may cause pain on pressure after suppository application (approximately 5-10 minutes), but it will disappear after the suppository melts.
Application of Hemorol in Children
It is not recommended to administer the drug to children due to a lack of safety data.
Pregnancy
Avoid applying Hemorol to pregnant women.
Breastfeeding
The safety of the drug has not been investigated in breastfeeding women; therefore, it is not recommended for use during this period.
Driving and Operating Machinery
Hemorol does not affect the ability to drive vehicles and operate moving mechanisms.
Possible Undesired Effects
No undesired effects have been reported with the application of Hemorol. However, if any appear, consult a physician. Possible effects include pruritus or flare appearance. In case of an allergic reaction or intensification of the disease symptoms, discontinue the application of the preparation and consult a physician.
Storage of Hemorol
Store the drug at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Keep it out of reach and sight of children. Do not use the drug after the expiry date stated on the package.
Composition
Active substances:
- Chamomillae anthodii extractum spissum (3:1); extractant: purified water – 50 mg
- Belladonnae radicis extractum spissum (4:1); extractant: ethanol 70% V/V – 20 mg
- Extractum compositum spissum (4:1) ex: Cytisi scoparii herba, Hippocastani cortice, Tormentillae rhizomate, Millefolii herba; extractant: ethanol 40% V/V – 80 mg
- Benzocainum – 100 mg
Auxiliary substances:
- Glycerol (E 422) – 150 mg
- Neutral fat up to 2 g
